At the early age of six he was already shooting a first experimental movie with an 8mm camera given to him by his grandpa – from these days on, he knew he was destined to become a director…
Right, probably two out of three director’s CVs start with something like this. But nope, this guy here didn’t ! In fact it took Roman quite a while, to figure out he was all about directing. Leaving school he was determined to becoming a drop-dead serious journalist – which is why Roman holds a Master’s degree in political sciences. While university was more of a spare time activity Roman worked as a TV producer and reporter. But after seven years with two major European TV stations Roman could no longer ignore an ardent desire deep within : to shoot beautiful pictures and tell stories that really mattered to him. So he ventured out into the world of advertising – producing and directing commercials.
Starting off as a journalist tought him an authentic style and critical eye towards overly commercial imagery. Roman connects to visually strong films with an energetic pace. He likes to work hands on, on location, outdoor often times shooting sports, automotive and the people enjoying it.
True facts : Roman is proud of his family and two kids. He would love to find some time forr mountain bike downhill riding again, though. And he is definitely not dreaming of a feature film career since he enjoys the inspiration and challenges of commercials world just too much.
